Location and getting here

Where is Thalassa Green?

Thalassa Green is in the north of the island of Zakynthos (Zante), Greece, in a fenced olive grove at Varvares, near Volimes, reached by a private road. The small harbour and beach of Agios Nikolaos are less than 1 km away.

How far are the airport and Zante town?

The airport and Zante town are about 30 km away. We can arrange car rental on request.

How far is the sea?

Agios Nikolaos beach is less than 1 km away, and every cottage has sea views from the first floor. Ferries to the island of Kefalonia also leave from the harbour.

Cottages and capacity

How many cottages are there and how many people do they sleep?

There are three handcrafted wooden cottages: Calipso, Galatea and Euridice. Each is a 24 m² two-storey tiny house that sleeps up to 2 guests, with a 140 cm French double bed.

Can I bring children?

Thalassa Green is not designed for young children: the minimum age is 12.

What is inside the cottage?

Air conditioning, wi-fi, a safe, a fully equipped kitchen (pots, crockery, filter coffee machine), bed and bath linen, a courtesy set, blackout curtains, a smoke detector, a fire extinguisher, a fire blanket and a first aid kit. The ground floor is open-plan with living area, sofa bed, dining area and kitchen; the bedroom is upstairs.

Is there parking?

Yes, parking is free.

Booking and costs

How do I book?

You book directly with us, with no middleman: message us on WhatsApp, send an email or call us with your dates and number of guests, and we will reply with availability and rates.

How much does a stay cost?

Rates vary by season and length of stay. Send us the dates you have in mind and we will tell you availability and price.

Are there extra costs?

Yes: cleaning €30 per stay and a tax of €2 per day.

Can I cancel my booking?

The rate for direct bookings is non-refundable, and the booking is confirmed only when full payment is received. If a booking was made by mistake, you have 24 hours to cancel it free of charge: write to us and we will cancel it.

Which languages can I use to talk to you?

Italian, English and French. The WhatsApp chat is open every day from 08:00 to 19:00.

House rules and times

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed.

Is breakfast included?

No. Thalassa Green is not a hotel or a B&B: the cottages have a fully equipped kitchen so you can prepare your meals as you like.

What is nearby?

Within 2 km on foot you will find bars, restaurants, the beach and a minimarket.

Services and experiences

What services do you offer during the stay?

A mid-week bath linen change on request, a weekly change of bed linen and weekly cleaning. On request we arrange grocery delivery, restaurant and excursion bookings and car rental.

Can I do yoga or meditation?

Yes, if you wish: Sonia, founder of Thalassa Green, guides meditation, asana (yoga postures) and pranayama breathing sessions in the common areas, a short distance from the cottages. You can also choose silence as your only companion: the formula is called Grenting (green holiday renting).

What excursions are possible?

With our partners on Zakynthos we offer trekking and mountain bike tours, day boat trips and sailing trips to the island’s most inaccessible corners.

Is Thalassa Green really sustainable?

The village is built with wood, a renewable source, and uses rainwater collection, solar panels for hot water, grey water purified and reused to irrigate the garden, energy-saving bulbs and double glazing. We limit plastic with refillable bottles and drinking water for guests. The cottages rest on foundations but are prepared for wheels, so one day they can be moved and the olive grove can return to what it was.
